Access to Mont Saint-Michel is exclusively via the official car parks located on the mainland.

It is not possible to park directly at the foot of the Mont (except for specific authorized cases).

Visitors park in the dedicated car parks, then reach the Mont:

  • 🚶♂️ On foot (about 30 to 40 minutes walk)

  • 🚌 By free shuttle (continuous service depending on attendance)

These services are managed by the EPIC Mont Saint-Michel.

🚌 Shuttles: how do they work?

Shuttles run all day.

During peak periods:

  • very frequent rotation

  • possible wait times during peak hours

In low season:

  • smoother traffic flow

  • more pleasant experience

💡 Practical tip:
Arriving early in the morning (before 10 am) or late in the day helps avoid peak times.

🌊 High tides: pay attention to schedules

During high tides, the Mont can temporarily become an island again.

Schedules are officially communicated by local authorities and may change the organization of your visit.

Always check the schedules the day before or on the day of your visit.
